Introduction:
G'Day Mate!  Have you ever heard of the 'land down under'? Do you know where it is?  Do you know which country has people that really talk like that? Well get ready skipper! You are about to find out! You are on your way to explore this wonderful land called Australia.   Did you know that this is the only country in the world that is also considered a continent? It is filled with wide open spaces, and some people live hundreds of miles from the nearest town.  There are many fun and exciting things for us to learn about the place that is also called 'the land down under.'  Good luck and have fun!

Task:
Your task is to explore 5 topics (plus 1 on the Great Barrier Reef) on the continent of Australia with a partner.  You will decide what you want to explore and learn about this wonderful country. Remember...you need to explore 6  topics all together.
Some of the things you might want to become familiar with are the sports that are played there, the olympics 2000 event in Sydney, the music, the games that are played there, the unusual animals that you would see in Australia, the geography, climate, the different schools in Australia, and types of food eaten there. You might also want to explore how the Aborigines and the Australians are different.
Please remember that you are to enjoy your adventure! G'Day Mate!
